In a strategic move towards advancing electric mobility solutions, Agratas, the global battery business of Tata Group, has announced a collaboration with Tata Technologies, a leading product engineering and digital services company. The partnership aims to scale Agratas' product development and enterprise systems, focusing on designing, developing, and manufacturing best-in-class battery solutions.

Leveraging Tata Technologies' extensive experience of over 25 years in product development, digital engineering, and product supply chain, Agratas aims to expedite its product development timelines. This includes the integration of battery cells into modules and packs tailored to meet the diverse requirements of customers across the mobility and energy sectors.

The collaboration aligns with Tata Group's holistic approach, denoted by the #OneTata initiative, and involves Tata Technologies in developing digital business architectures to support the production of high-quality battery solutions at Agratas' gigafactories in India and the UK. This alliance underscores Tata Group's commitment to establishing a comprehensive eMobility ecosystem, contributing to the global production and adoption of electric vehicles.

Tom Flack, CEO of Agratas, expressed the commitment to delivering top-notch battery solutions to customers and contributing to the global transition to electric mobility and clean energy storage. The collaboration with Tata Technologies allows Agratas to leverage expertise in Electric Vehicle engineering, ensuring competitive design, packaging, and integration of critical battery packs for various applications.

Warren Harris, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Technologies, highlighted the company's vision of engineering a better world through sustainable solutions across the eMobility value chain. The collaboration reflects Tata Technologies' expertise in Electric Vehicle engineering and digital transformation solutions, supporting Agratas in accelerating the industrialisation of its gigafactories in the UK and India.

This includes recruitment efforts for skilled individuals across various functions within the battery solution value chain, further solidifying the depth and breadth of the collaborative engagement.

As Agratas gears up for battery cell production set to commence in 2026, the collaboration not only strengthens the capabilities of both companies but also positions Agratas' anchor customers, Tata Motors and JLR, on the path toward a fully electrified future.
