Safety enhancements for US-based Stellantis commercial fleet customers come in the form of cutting-edge AI technology from Nauto. Both brands have entered into a partnership to deploy Nauto’s safety solution to reduce the number of accidents and subsequent claims costs.

A selection of dual-facing cameras and external sensors monitors the road ahead and scans for distracted drivers and in-cabin risks. These are then run through the predictive AI, and warning alerts are sounded for the driver.

The system is also designed to observe the necessary aspects of driving and act as a line of defence and not act as an annoying system alerting the driver even for unnecessary and trivial events. AI is backed with complex real-world data, over 3 billion AI-processed miles that include vehicles, pedestrians and other road users.

The Nauto solution is easy to deploy, with self-installation in less than 30 minutes. It also offers key benefits for fleet owners, including reduced risk, fewer accidents, accelerated claims management, and rapid ROI.

Fleet owners can benefit from the Nauto solution in a number of ways. The Nauto solution helps drivers develop safer driving habits and can reduce collisions by up to 80%. The accident prevention benefits can lead to significant savings on insurance costs, repairs, downtime, and medical expenses. Another advantage is accelerated claims management, as the solution offers rapid collision reporting, allowing fleets to notify claims ops in as little as 15 minutes. Further, Nauto customers have seen a payback in as little as 4.5 months.

The solution helps improve driver performance as well. Fleet owners get detailed insights into driver behaviour, which can be used to identify and address areas for improvement. This then aids fleet owners to reduce fuel costs by promoting safer and more efficient driving habits. By providing a safer and more reliable transportation experience, fleet owners can attract and retain more customers.

Dr Stefan Heck, CEO, Nauto, said, “Not only does the partnership streamlines access to proven safety technology, it empowers more fleets with the tools they need to prioritise safety, reduce risk, and protect their drivers and everyone else that shares the roads, including fellow drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.'
